Municipal Judge and Trustee Elections

Municipal Judge

The Municipal Judge position is elected in even numbered years
and is elected at large.

If more than two citizens file as candidates for the Municipal Judge position, a primary election will be held on the 3rd Tuesday in February.

How do I run for an elected position in the Village?

You must be a resident of the Village and a qualified elector to seek election to a Village office.  A  Declaration of Candidacy and Campaign Registration Statement form must be filed in person with the Village Clerk.  The citizen must then circulate nomination papers and obtain at least 20 signatures from Little Chute residents to have their name appear on the ballot.

Nomination papers may be circulated no earlier than December 1st  and are due in the clerk's office by (normally 5:00 p.m. the first Tuesday in January) For 2016, deadline is Tuesday, January 5th at 5:00 p.m.

Elections for the Village Board President and Trustee seats are held on the 1st Tuesday in April.  The Village President and three trustee seats are elected in odd-numbered years and all seats are elected at large.

The Village President, Village Trustee seats are three-year terms.

If more than two citizens file as candidates for the Village President position, a primary election will be held on the 3rd Tuesday in February.

If more than six citizens file as candidates for Village Trustee seats, a primary election is necessary and it will be held on the 3rd Tuesday in February. 

The two Trustees receiving the highest amount of votes will be for 3 year terms. The Village Trustee with the lowest vote total will be for a 2 year term.
