“Heart of the Valley Hospitality, Customer Service Subject of Workshop”

(Little Chute)     With the long-awaited grand opening of the Little Chute Windmill just over a month away, Heart of the Valley area is taking stock of its visitor readiness.  The opening is expected during Kermis , one of Little Chute’s major Dutch heritage events.
A free hospitality & customer service workshop by the Wisconsin Department of Tourism’s David Spiegelberg will be offered twice on Thursday, August 28th.  It will be held 7:30 – 9:00 a.m. at Van Hoof Library in Little Chute, then again from 10:30 – 12:00 noon at Heart of the Valley Chamber offices in Kaukauna.
                The workshop is designed for front-line staff, managers, business owners, public-serving agencies, and volunteers.  Workshop hosts include Little Chute Business Association, Heart of the Valley Chamber of Commerce, Village of Little Chute, and Outagamie County UW-Extension.
                Two general questions that will be put to participants in the workshop are “what does your welcome mat look like?” and “what is your visitor preparedness strategy?”.  To help answer these questions, workshop topics will address:  basics of customer service; showing pride in your region; defusing angry customers; proper service for diverse customers; and, customer service in the digital age.
