We have had some nice weather lately and everyone is starting to work on their yards. Little Chute residents/taxpayers have two options for disposing of their yard waste. The can choose to bag their yard waste for curbside pickup on Wednesdays (starting April 23) or they can purchase an access control card to the village's yard waste site (which opens Monday, April 14).
Bagged yard waste (garden debris, small hedge trimmings less than 6" in length, leaves, grass clippings, and lawn rakings) will be picked up curbside starting on Wednesday, April 23, and will continue every Wednesday until the last pickup day in 2014, which will be Wednesday, September 17. Each bag that is placed curbside for pickup on Wednesdays must have a $2 yard waste sticker attached. Yard waste stickers can be purchased at Municipal Building (1940 Buchanan Street) or at the Village Hall. Please remember that bags must be placed curbside by 7am on Wednesdays.
If you do not want to purchase $2 stickers for curbside pickup of yard waste, you may purchase an access control card to the yard waste site. This site is located on Nixon Street (behind the Municipal Services Building at 1940 Buchanan Street) and is available seven days a week, daylight hours only, beginning Monday, April 14. The cost for using this site is $20 for the first year, with a cost of $5 for subsequent years. You can re-activate or purchase an access control card at the Municipal Services Building. We accept check or cash only, no credit or debit cards.
If you have any questions on curbside pickup of yard waste or the yard waste site, please call the Department of Public Works at 788-7395 ext.201.
